SUN HESPER JANSEN
FANTASY AUTHOR & POET
READER REVIEWS
“
This book is a spell. In Fairy of Disenchantment Sun Hesper Jansen weaves her pen like a needle through essays, poetry and prose poems, to stitch together the open wounds of invisible illness, tristesse and being human.

In this astonishingly honest collection, art, science, medicine and philosophy, pop culture and ancient wisdom blend from inside a machine taking pictures of a brain.

Jansen's taut and economic poems show delicious tensions, her language scrappy yet elegant, treacherous yet gentle, wild yet erudite.
This is a masterful and sophisticated collection allowing for multiple readings and wonderful multi-leveled discoveries.
NANCY DUNLOP, author of HOSPITAL POEMS
“
The world-building in this novel is astounding. Rich inventiveness mixes with atmospheric detail to create scenes that feel completely authentic. The story follows a diverse cast of characters who all have a small or large part to play in an imminent rebellion. It’s a mark of a good writer when every character feels realised as they move through shadowy music venues and dreamscapes alike.
